"Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they sahll name him Emmanuel, which means, 'God is with us."

Sunday December 13, 2015 - 3rd Sunday of Advent

by Elaine Retz on Saturday, November 28, 2015 10:21 AM
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice!
Your kindness should be known to all.
The Lord is near. Have no anxiety at all, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God
that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and
minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:4-7

Sunday December 6, 2015 - 2nd Sunday of Advent

by Elaine Retz on Saturday, November 28, 2015 10:14 AM
John went throughout the whole region of the Jordan,
proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins,
as it is written in the book of the words of the prophet Isaiah:
A voice of one crying out in the desert:
"Prepare the way of the Lord,
make straight his paths.
Every valley shall be filled
and every mountain and hill shall be made low.
The winding roads shall be made straight,
and the rough ways made smooth,
and all flesh shall see the salvation of God."

Sunday November 29, 2015 - 1st Sunday of Advent

by Elaine Retz on Saturday, November 28, 2015 10:06 AM
Brothers and sisters:
May the Lord make you increase and abound in love
for one another and for all,
just as we have for you,
so as to strengthen your hearts,
to be blameless in holiness before our God and Father
at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his holy ones. Amen.  1 Thes. 3:12-13

Sunday, November 22, 2015 - The Solemnity of Christ the King

by Elaine Retz on Friday, November 20, 2015 5:18 AM

Jesus Christ is the faithful witness,
the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and  Father,
to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.

Behold, he is coming amid the clouds,
and every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him.
All the peoples of the earth will lament him.
Yes. Amen.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God,
"the one who is and who was and who is to come, the almighty."
Rev 1:5-8

Sunday, November 15, 2015 - 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

by Elaine Retz on Friday, November 13, 2015 6:13 PM
"In the same way, when you see these things happening,
know that he is near, at the gates.
Amen, I say to you,
this generation will not pass away
until all these things have taken place.
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.

But of that day or hour, no one knows,
neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

Sunday, November 8, 2015 - 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

We must live by the obedience of faith, a faith that shows itself in works of charity and self-giving (Galatians 5:6).

Sunday, October 25th, 2015 - The 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

by Elaine Retz on Friday, October 23, 2015 6:12 PM
In every age God cares for his people like a parent.  He is always ready with an open heart to heal and embrace and forgive.

Sunday, October 18th, 2015 - The 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time

by Elaine Retz on Thursday, October 15, 2015 4:21 AM

"For the Son of Man did not come to be served
but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Sunday, October 11, 2015 – 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time

I prayed, and prudence was given me;
I pleaded, and the spirit of wisdom came to me.
I preferred her to scepter and throne,
and deemed riches nothing in comparison with her,
nor did I liken any priceless gem to her;
because all gold, in view of her, is a little sand,
and before her, silver is to be accounted mire.
Beyond health and comeliness I loved her,
and I chose to have her rather than the light,
because the splendor of her never yields to sleep.
Yet all good things together came to me in her company,
and countless riches at her hands.  Wisdom 7:7-11
